Stursi Grand Opening
Stursi Grand Opening
August 2026
Some ribbon-cuttings are formalities.
This one was a milestone.
This summer, KJA joined partners, family, and the wider Maryland business community at Historic Savage Mill to celebrate the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of Mocktique by Stursi — the first brick-and-mortar home for a brand two sisters built entirely on their own terms.
Mocktique is the storefront home of Stursi, the four-time award-winning premium mocktail and mixer line co-founded by sisters Alexandra "Lexx" Mills and Olivia "Livv" Mills. Located in the Old Weave Building at 8600 Foundry Street in Savage, the 750-square-foot shop is a booze-free bottle shop and event space, carrying Stursi's three signature blends — Revvl, Reign, and Debauchery — alongside a curated selection of non-alcoholic beer, wine, spirits, mixers, craft soda, glassware, and cocktail books (Baltimore Business Journal). The grand opening celebration welcomed guests with free tastings, hourly prize drawings, and a Mocktique and Mill Crawl passport encouraging visitors to explore the historic complex.
Innovation, Served Chilled
The story behind the doors is what makes this opening resonate. When alcohol began causing health issues for Livv, the sisters refused to settle for mediocre mocktails, drawing on her decade behind the bar to create something that could genuinely stand beside a craft cocktail (Patch). They built the company without outside capital, raising grant and pitch competition funding and formulating and designing in-house. Along the way, Stursi earned the BevNET Spirits Award for Best New Non-Alcoholic Cocktail and Triple Gold at the NYC Zero Proof Choice Awards, and became the official non-alcoholic cocktail of Chesapeake Arena in Baltimore.
As a 100 percent Black-owned, woman-led company operating with a small team in the DMV (The Daily Record), Stursi represents exactly the kind of business KJA exists to champion. We have been fortunate to stand alongside Lexx and Livv in rooms across the region — including the State of Baltimore Business Summit at Camden Yards earlier this summer — and watching them cut the ribbon on a permanent home was a genuine full-circle moment.
There is a lesson in this opening for every small business owner reading it. Growth rarely arrives in one dramatic leap. It comes from showing up consistently, building relationships that outlast any single transaction, and being ready when the right opportunity appears. The Mills sisters spent years earning this storefront, and they did it surrounded by a network that believed in them.
Congratulations to Lexx, Livv, and the entire Stursi team. If you are in the Savage or Columbia area, stop by the Old Weave Building, pick up a can, and see what happens when two people refuse to settle.
Because at KJA, we believe the best celebrations are the ones where everyone is included — and now there is a beautiful storefront in Howard County built on exactly that idea.
