Party with a Purpose: Food for the Soul Charity Fundraiser

This month, the community came together for an unforgettable celebration with heart. On Saturday, December 13th, at Citizens & Culture in Silver Spring, MD, Party with a Purpose: Food for the Soul —hosted by Haute Affairs Event Management in partnership with Volunteers of America Chesapeake &
Carolinas (VOACC)—brought the holiday spirit alive with music, good food, and even better company.
Guests were treated to exceptional culinary experiences, handcrafted cocktails, and soulful sounds from DJ E‑Square and Dr. Joseph George III. But beyond the lights and laughter, the true highlight of the night was the generosity that flowed so freely throughout the room.
Giving That Matters
Admission to the event came in the form of a $25+ grocery gift card, and our community showed up in a big way! Together, attendees donated dozens of gift cards to support VOACC’s Adopt A Family and Holiday Gift Card Campaigns. These contributions will directly help local families who are working hard to stay stable in the face of rising grocery costs and reduced food assistance programs.
K. Jennings & Associates (KJA) was both grateful and inspired to witness the spirit of generosity that filled the evening. We are honored to have played a small part in amplifying the mission of VOACC—a faith-based nonprofit serving more than 9,700 individuals and families each year through housing, health, and human services.
The Results
The event saw 50+ attendees and $2200 raised in gift cards alone. Throughout the event and during promotions, many more donations went directly to the VOACC's Adopt A Family donation link.
Gratitude for Our Partners and Volunteers
This event was a true community effort. KJA extends heartfelt thanks to all the vendors, local businesses, and volunteers who donated their talent, time, and services to make Party with a Purpose possible. From the chefs and mixologists to the event staff and entertainment partners, every contribution helped turn compassion into action.
A special shoutout goes to Nicholle Granger, who shared the powerful story of personally delivering a grocery gift card to a VOACC client—a moving reminder of the real lives touched by our collective giving.
The Impact Continues
The joy from that night doesn’t end with the music. The gift cards and donations raised will help VOACC continue their essential work across Maryland, DC, Virginia, and the Carolinas, providing dignity and support to families working to secure brighter tomorrows.
At KJA, we believe in the strength of shared purpose. Party with a Purpose was more than an event—it was a demonstration of what community looks like when we lead with gratitude, compassion, and unity.
